the siteThis blog covers a wide range of topics under medical science. Topics include new advancements, old remedies still proven to work, mental and emotional health, explanations of diseases and how they are caused, and so much more!
The complex world of medicine is evolving with new technologies and changing everyday. It's important, as the consumers in the medical world, we are aware and informed when making decisions. After all, we spend weeks deciding what car to get; but, when it comes to the medical world we agree blindly to what doctors tell us. Of course, it's not your doctors fault. They do their part and briefly explain the procedure, to the best of their ability, and answer any questions. But, sometimes you want to know more, and that is okay. Sometimes, you know words are coming out of the doctors mouth, but you have no idea what any of it means. And sometimes, you are to traumatized, shocked, or tiered to listen. In making this website, I am trying to explain it in simple terms so that the average person can understand the fascinating, yet confusing, world of medicine and be able to make informed decisions. |

Hello! I hope you are enjoying and benefiting from my page. I'm Isra, a female student living in Michigan and for as long as I can remember, science has fascinated me. I plan to someday become an internist. An internist is a doctor who specializes in the detection, diagnosis, and treatment of disease in adults. As a future doctor, I think it is important to make sure all patients understand exactly what is happening every step of the way. I have been on the other side of the situation and I know how awful it is. My grandfather recently passed away, but before that he was in the hospital for a long time. I remember sitting with my grandma as the doctors would explain a surgery that would likely save his life or end it. And, after sitting in an emergency room for twelve hours, it is difficult to comprehend what the doctor is saying. The language barrier didn't help either because I speak English and it seemed like the doctor was speaking a whole different medical language. I don't want that to happen to anyone, so I want to translate to simple English that the average american can understand.
